If the CDC is right, there are about to be a lot more coronavirus deaths in these 5 states

Coronavirus deaths are going to get a lot worse soon in some parts of the US. That’s according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which on Friday released a new estimate showing an increase in expected coronavirus deaths in the US over the next few weeks.

The CDC now forecasts that new COVID-19 deaths may increase over the next month, with 5,000 to 11,000 new deaths reported during the week ending August 22. Their model predicts that 168,000 to 182,000 total COVID-19 deaths will be reported by August 22.

State-level forecasts predict that the number of reported new deaths per week may increase over the next four weeks in: Alabama, Kentucky, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, and Washington.
